isn't all a photographer needs to accomplish to make a successful image. The bee is in the perfect position and the composition is good, if only the bee had been an inch closer to the lens then the bee would have been in focus and the image would have been perfect.

Katie's First Day

Katie just finished her first stage play. She was part of this summer's "The Heavier Than Air" summer stock program. What a thrill. Both Katie and the entire cast performed amazingly. Loved it, twice.

A Rare Find

I've only come across one other of these flowers while hiking in the Cascades. I think they are in the Lilie family but not sure.

Do You Feel Refreshed?

Mountain streams and rivers have such a refreshing appeal. This is a section of the Ohanapecosh river. From the campground you can hike upstream for a mile, cross over near Silver falls and return by the other side.

The Cascade river's are still rushing.  Driving into the Ohanapecosh Campground has you crossing over this bridge. Beautiful Ohanapecosh river was raging.

The Horses Are Running

Come out and spend the afternoon watching the horses run, it's a lot of fun.

Sea Hawk Searching

These hawks are so quick and stay in sight for such a short time that if I was photographing in the opposite direction I could easily miss them altogether. In this case, I was photographing water lilies and at just the right moment I turned to see this Osprey hunting over Lake Meridian.

It Is Strange To Think . . .

of the kids being out of the house after only one year. This mallard duck had a string of twelve ducklings following her earlier this year.

A Proud Western Thrush

I think this bird is so cool looking. I think it may be a cross between a woodpecker and a pheasant. What do you think?

After chasing dragonflies around a lake, I was relieved to find this little guy ready for it's portrait. Nature is so amazing, isn't it?

Water Lillies At Lake Wilderness

A bright sunny day walk around Lake Meridian's water lillie pad pond. They were either white or pink, I liked the pink lillies the best. I loved the lillie's reflection in the pond.

Of all the various types of dragonflies I've tried to photograph I think this species is the hardest to capture. They are always on the move and seldom land in one spot for long. I enjoy looking at their black and white camoulflage wings.

A Child's Joy

There are expensive yard sets for children and then there is the 'tire swing'. Which one gives the child more joy?

The Magic Of Twilight

I was finished with my photo shoot or at least I thought I was. Stopping for one last look the moment revealed itself. The contrast between the black darks in the scene and the vibrant bright oranges in the setting sunset was simply amazing.

The Smallest Of Wildflowers

The biggest impact. These delicate flowers abound in the hills of the western states. I look for them each spring.

What Is The Best Camera To Have?

When asked this question I always have to answer, "the one you have with you at the time". This image was taken six years ago with a cell phone. I would have missed this image if it wasn't for the lowly cell phone camera.

Deadly Beauty . . . Beware

The roots, sap, flowers, seeds, and leaves of foxglove are all poisonous - even when dried. This was a fact I didn't know until I was researching the foxglove flower. Most are mildly poisonous but some can even be deadly to a small child.

Feeling Nostalgic Already
